Kasa Del Ray was absolutely lovely! The location was right within walking distance of cute shops and restaurants. The bed was comfortable. Even the coffee was good, and kitchen fully stocked. If you have to do laundry you can do that, and they have a parking lot for your car. Only questionable thing was the 35 dollar charge for incidentals that they keep even if nothing is wrong or the 250 dollar hold option on your card which they give back, but also is a hassle. Every time I travel I use AirBnB, VRBO, or something similar, and I have had the best experience yet with Kasa Alexandria. They allowed an early check in free of charge, they were very quick to respond to questions, the room was beautiful and unique, and there were no ridiculous check out rules. I will definitely be back!
I leave reviews to help other travelers avoid bad experiences, and this is one of those reviews. The description of this property is misleading. It presents itself as a hotel, but the experience is much closer to an Airbnb. If I wanted an Airbnb, I would have booked one. The check-in process was a complete mess. The entrance to the building is poorly marked, the parking instructions are confusing, and the employee I spoke with was not helpful. I’m looking to move into the area. I wanted to experience life in Alexandria in the Del Ray neighborhood. The hotel was the perfect location. The room/ apartment felt like a home. It was perfect in size and peacefully quiet. If you looking for a relaxing stay in a great neighborhood and close to the DCA airport and DC. This spot is the best.
A perfect place to stay for a weekend. Great to have a kitchen and fridge, with food available nearby, and two restaurants downstairs. Adjacent to Saturday Farm Market.
