Absolutely unbelievable. Front desk said they can’t see if you checked in, you have to pull up an email. I pull up the email. Clearly I paid weeks ago. They call on 3 people to look at the computer. They need a guy to go up the elevator with me (I guess crime is that bad?). We open the room and the bed is a mess theres stuff in the trash. He calls maintenance on radio. No answer. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the room was spotless with a comfortable bed and the hotel's in the perfect location!!! Definitely coming back!
High prices and an unforgiving cancellation policy are a dangerous combination if there's any chance of unforeseen circumstances. Definitely would not book directly, between that and an unpleasant, convoluted booking process.
The hotel that I will always come to in New York. They have the most affordable prices for the quality, and the quality is absolutely phenomenal with a decent sized fridge, Gaggenau gas stove, microwave and a ton of square footage in a prime location
This was a last minute booking we made for NYC and we were very pleased with the outcome. In the past with other hotels, we had found that pictures online haven’t matched what you actually see in real life. 17 John Hotel was gorgeous! It looked like it did in the pictures. We only stayed one night and they let us store our luggage from early in the morning until check in. And they let us stay in their lounge while waiting and it was very nice and modern.
