My family stayed here in October 2025 and had the absolute best time. All of our expectations from the booking were not only met, but exceeded. Super spacious, clean space. Nice lounge area with coffee and ice and seating area. They graciously stored our luggage as we got in early. It was quiet, so close to the subway and in a wonderful neighborhood. We had a fantastic stay. All staff were very communicative in the lead up to our stay. The apartment was self was perfect for a family of 3, giving us enough space. The apartment had everything we needed, and was well laid out, spacious and very clean/tidy. The location was perfect for exploring New York, with access to many transit lines very close by. We look forward to staying again in the not too distant future.
My first stay at 17 John St (room 1002) was great — spacious, very clean, and the location is perfect. That’s why I decided to book again. This time (room 1401) was disappointing. The room had a strong urine smell that never went away, even with the AC on, and it felt dirty overall. Not sure if there had been a pet, but it didn’t seem properly cleaned. Having just returned from a 6 night stay, I do not understand the high rating reviews for this hotel. If it was not for speaking to other guests at the hotel I would think we had just been very unlucky but I know our experience was equal to others we spoke with. This hotel is social media driven with zero follow through or substance. Firstly....everyone's worst fear bed bugs! We were alerted to them by other hotel guests in the lift going to complain. Great stay. Rooms are roomy which is such a hard find in NYC. Had plenty of space for 2 remote workers, large bathroom, and kitchenette. Located in a secure building in great area. Can be noisy at times, but you really won't notice unless you're a light sleeper. Free-use laundry room in building with detergent. Quick response from friendly guest services.
