I rented at Somerset Towers managed by Paramount Property Management. Location is okay nearby mall. The appliances are extremely old, even basic apartments in developing countries have better ones. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom or kitchen, causing a persistent earthy smoky smell in the bathroom. The garbage chute blasts strong wind in your face when opened. These guys take your info and don't have the decency get back to you. With a yes or no. I really wanted that apartment. They clearly don't care about people. Bad practice, I segest staying away.
I used to rate this building highly — 3 years ago it was 4.8 stars — but my experience now has been extremely frustrating and stressful. Bedbugs reappeared in my unit just weeks after treatment, and management only sprays one unit at a time. This approach doesn’t work because bedbugs easily travel between walls and shared spaces. Cracks, holes, and gaps in walls, baseboards, and around plumbing are not consistently sealed, which allows pests to spread and hide. I lived there for about a year and have to say my experience was awful. I think I captured 12 mice total in a year living on the 12th floor and all they did was patch a couple holes. That’s not even the worst part… when I gave my notice I gave it for December 31 as my last day. The property manager requested I move out sooner as the employees didn’t want to have to clean the apartment on New Year’s Eve and the other tenant wanted to move in early. Stopped here for a second , stepped out of car and immediately stepped in cat shit and kitty litter, please clean this up and maybe try to see who's been using the city's curb as there kitty litter dumping ground. Absolutely disgusting and not a good look.
