I am a man of many hats but I did not know there was more than one Sombrero until I met with Aracely Gonzalez. This place first opened in 1968 on Montezuma and El Cajon Boulevard, and opened in South Park in 1984. Gonzalez purchased the Sombrero Mexican Food restaurant in South Park from her parents in 2010 and began reinvesting in the interior and the presentation of fare. Sub Par Taco shop (not terrible) – Everything here is pretty standard... but it's my least favorite taco shop in the area. Some people like this place though so to each their own.
Worst overall taco shop chain in all of San Diego - I'd rather eat taco bell than Sambreros – This is the worst Mexican food place in all of San Diego. I wouldn?t say the quality of the food is necessarily bad but there is not one thing on the menu I haven't tried that I would ever get again.
