Alright for the price – They sushi was really good, but the serviced lacked. The manager did make a point to come to our table, however he was very unprofessional and I think was even flirting with me an my friend a bit. The ambience is nice, place to see and be seen. Good place to go on a first date or group dining. But not romantic.

Highly recommended, but know what to look out for – I've been to Soma many times since they opened about 7 months ago, and I see consistent improvements every time. I have gotten to know many of the people that work there, and I think that the management, as well as the staff is doing a spectacular job. The food has always been excellent (especially the Crazy Irishman roll & the Spring Lamb. The Fish & Chips is amazing, as well), and the service is always friendly and attentive (I'm always greeted if not immediately with a s... read more

Red and Black sooooo Boring! – At times, I have met with friends here, had some sushi and it was ok, meaning, it did not make me sick, the service was never good, and I would catch myself watching the girl behind the bar, smacking away at her gum as she swirls a drinks, or the burly young semi Italian looking bartender adjust his family jewels as he shakes out a martini, in a word, UNBELIEVABLE. But last night, oh man...........I have been sick all night, and had 3 hours sleep, now with a cup of green tea as I warn everyone.... read more

Great place for those who hate sushi, but dating someone who loves it!! – I had an amazing experience at this restaurant!! We ordered the 7 course meal with the wine pairing and the chef himself came to ask what our tastes were....spicy/mild, sushi/cooked food. It was wonderful. The different dishes came out in perfect timing and the wines paired with each dish were exceptional. When i asked our waiter at the end of the meal if he could write down every wine we had, he gladly obliged. For the price, you get the service and m... read more

Some-a good food! – Seated promptly and service was great, food was great! Busboys were on their jobs until our server disappeared? So we had to ask another server for a desert menu...and our check. But otherwise it was a great experience I will come back for sure!

Avoid weekends – Not recommended on weekends. We waited for an hour plus for our table. When we got our table and was about to order they told us that the kitchen was closing and that we couldn't get desserts. Service was ok but far from up to std

Soma Sushi – My wife and I just recently moved to the Houston area last year from Denver, CO.. We Have traveled far and wide dining at many extravagent places throughout the states. By far the Soma experience is one of our most highly rated of them all, and one that I wont soon forget. Its infusion of a wonderful sushi bar and the Franco-Japanese creations of chef Robert Gadsby are a perfect blend of casual dining and great food. We have been twice...Once on a Saturday evening and another in the last week on a Thursday. On T... read more

FANTASTIC!!! What Else Can I Say – I have been 4 times and haven't had a bad experience yet. I usually stick to sushi at these venues but I ventured out. The scallops were wonderful, amazing. Koodos to the chef!!! The service was superb and very attentive. The managers were very helpful with wine selections. We spoke to one manager, Traig or Trey, he suggested a beautiful Vouvray that matched perfectly with our food. We did have the sushi as a second course and I can't possibly imagine fresher fish in the city of Houston. Th... read more
