We brought our son here for his first 2 check-ins. Each time they looked in his mouth for a few minutes, gave a thumbs up, and gave us some very quick tips about brushing and eating. For the second appointment, the dentist was 20 minutes late (I saw her arrive at the office). She looked in his mouth and said everything looked great. We had been using a silicone brush that bothered him less but didn't seem that effective. The dentist said that was fine and sent us on our way.
