I truly hate that people encourage us women to leave domestic relationships and start over, suggesting it is in the best interest of the children, yet failing to provide substantial support thereafter and resources beyond referrals to shelters, especially to those who already have a home, particularly those who have lost their means due to leaving dv and are struggling to rebuild.
They’re very friendly.
I was stuck in a home where a guy with prior domestic violence convictions was threatening me with a firearm and his gang affliction. I was looking for legal aid for a restraining order so I can break my lease and escape but never got a response. Milwaukee Police Department is horrible and so does this place. I’m happy my landlord grew a heart and let me go. I can see why women feel stuck in these abusive relationships and often lose their lives in this city.
Contacted them for help and never got it! They were supposed to have an advocate reach out to me, but they never did! Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable! 😡
