UPDATE (05/05/26): I want to personally thank Dr. Shackleford at Sojourn Psychotherapy for reaching out to me personally -- & immediately-- regarding my previous review. He apologized for all of the miscommunication issues & is leaning over backwards 1,000% to assist me in obtaining therapy. Both Dr Shackleford & Dr Kovda are helping me in obtaining therapy, whether at Sojourn along with providing recommendations for other facilities along with dealing & working with my insurance coverage. I have seen counselors in the past but decided to see a psychiatrist for the first time and I'm so glad I did. Dr Shackleford picks up on so many little things and has helped me understand so much about myself no one else has. I wish I could've started seeing him as a teen to avoid some of the adult struggles I've had. I can't say enough positive things about him!
Dr. Ryan Shackelford is very compassionate and very non-judgmental. He is in the field to truly help and has helped me make breakthroughs that I haven't been able to make with many others mental health providers. I have known Dr. Shackelford for the last few years and continue to work with him as part of a weekly peer supervision group. He is an outstanding therapist and human being. I have had the privilge of witnessing his work and find him to be extremely attuned, knowledgeable and caring with his clients.
