Seen me multiple times and it was like a first visit every time. He didn’t not explain anything well at all or communicate. Office was completely disorganized through the entire processes. He seen my mri and said there was a tear and immediately tried to have me sign off on surgery with a conversation about it. 2 other doctors looked at same mri and seen no tear. Highly do not recommend, do not know how good of a surgeon he is though.
I went in for knee, he never showed me the x-rays. He suggested I get full knee replacement because my mediscus was torn and osteoarthritis, so I got a second opinion, glad I did. Got X-ray from the new doctor and I got to see them. Nothing wrong with knee all clean, it is my hip!! Would not recommend!!!
I had shoulder replacement. However the results were not good. I had no pain however I ended up with a rotator cuff tear. My options: another surgery or limited arm movement with no pain. I am living with limited ability to move my arm. Physical therapy cannot correct that.
During my first visit with Dr. Sohn, he seemed unprepared and had clearly no idea why I was there. While explaining the reason for my visit, he didn't seem to be listening to me. I really don't need another man in my life who can't be bothered to listen to me. I got another referral from my PCP to go elsewhere. I definitely won't be wasting my time with UTMC and Dr. Sohn again.
I'm preparing for total shoulder replacement surgery in March. He spent time w/me, answered all my questions, I was satisfied. Talks eye-to-eye w/patient -- actually, looking at patient, which most doctors do not, they're too busy typing things in. Before he looked at all my paperwork he wanted me to explain what happened. Excellent doctor; his assistant, Scott, is available. Very pleased.

Dr. Sohn and his staff was amazing to work with from start to finish. I went in with a torn rotator cuff, torn labrum, and a bone spur in my shoulder. He explained everything thoroughly and is so friendly and caring. His staff also takes care of every little detail to make sure that everything goes smoothly before, during and after surgery. I am so glad I made the choice to see Dr. Sohn for my shoulder injury. I wouldn't recommend anyone else.
