Got a text message from a scammer that said my facebook account was suspended for not following the rules or some such thing. The website I was supposed to go to was totally bogus and it was definitely a scam fishing for personal information. Facebook is still working obviously and I am again posting a warning about scammers. I just don't know how they got my cell number.
There is another phone scam going around don't let it scare you. The caller claims to be from Social Security and says your account has been compromised and your payments will cease unless you give them all your personal information. One also claimed that there was a warrant out for your arrest for drug trafficking. Your ID was found in a car in Texas that had drugs in it and if you give the caller all your money it will be fixed for you. After creating the system image be sure to create the recovery cd when prompted. Create one for both Windows 7 and Windows 10.
When taking advantage of Microsoft's free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 take the precaution of purchasing a backup drive and storing a system image file of your hard drive before and after the upgrade. This way if your Windows 10 crashes you can restore the Windows 10 image back to your computer or you can revert back to Windows 7 if you prefer. Remember to do current file backups also.
Just want to warn people about people who call you and indicate they are from Microsoft. They try to convince you that your computer is infected and want to come in remotely and fix it for you. THIS IS A SCAM!!!! They want a credit or debit card and will charge you lots of money or leave your computer in a mess if you don't pay. Microsoft does not call users, ever. They do not email users. Do not fall for these phone calls.
I had a computer come in for repairs for a bad virus. I wiped and reinstalled the operating system and got if functional but the virus had corrupted all their pictures and documents. Keep your antivirus software up to date and be careful what you open in your email.
Good Place for compute repair A great repair shop. They are knowledgable and friendly and their prices are very reasonable. They cleaned all the virus's from my computer and the charge was under $100.
