Outstanding Restaurant! Delaware has few Italian restaurants that I would define as being outstanding. Recently, on Kirkwood Highway, not far from University of Delaware Campus, a new Italian restaurant called Soffritto opened, and it is by far the best Italian food I have had in this area. Great Italian Food Great Atmosphere! Genuine Italian food and an overall great dining experience! Creative menu with not only Italian favorites but unique dishes as well. Everything comes to order and waitstaff is happy to help you with alterations. Couldn't ask for more! Make sure to use the call ahead seating system they have however; the wait was almost an hour for walk-ins. PROS: Food, service, atmosphere CONS: Long wait unless you call ahead.
Wonderful wait staff and a fantastic chef. Last evening , my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at your restaurant. My husband had the veal special and he said it was out of this world. I decided to go with my favorite Linguine with a white clam sauce. I asked our server, Laura, if she could ask the chef to make mine spicy with some extra garlic or red pepper. I forgot to tell her red pepper flakes and not red pepper strips of the vegetable, but she must have understood me. My dish arrived just the way I wanted. The chef... read more
