I was raised Orthodox Lutheran but left in my early 20s when I learned just how much they hated gay people. Converted to Judaism, a Conservative conversion by a Reform Rabbi, in 1996. Have struggled for years with the God concept, complicated by religious OCD and bipolar disorder. Went searching from 2011 to 2019 and returned to Judaism and my small town synagogue. Definitely a Humanist and vacillate between agnosticism and atheism. Buddhist practices also have been very helpful to me in my mental health journey. But I seem ... read more
