I'm a Lafayette resident and have been a patron of Social Bird since it opened. We live a few blocks away and sometimes walk to Social Bird to get dinner and/or cocktails or meet friends. Yesterday evening I had such a a negative experience at Social Bird I will never go there again. I met a few friends for happy hour and we ordered fries then a few rounds of cocktails. I came here after having dinner in Walnut Creek. I met my friends, ordered fries, and drinks. A couple of rounds in, an employee came to our table and told us we needed to leave. They said that if we didn't order dinner, we could not order more drinks. Even if we ordered dinner, they would not be able to order alcohol. I don't understand why they chose our table. Why? Is it because we were not white?
Great food. We had the friend chicken sliders and the Greek lamb sliders. Both very good. Fries were good too. We will be back.
Great food, service, drinks and atmosphere. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Would go to again. Try the biscuit and fried chicken entree.
