A must stop when in downtown Fairbanks. We were lucky enough to wander into it. The owner was in as well and was super enthusiastic about people stopping in and he loved telling about the business and his family history in Alaska. I had the spicy reindeer sausage with fries, pricey but good!
A great little, locally owned, pub type place. They did seem a little short staffed, but that didn't hurt our service any. The owner took time to talk to us, and tell us his story. The food was delicious.
Fun atmosphere with many cool artifacts on the wall. The owner is present and passionate. Great canned local beer selections. Had their infamous king crab burger and the clam chowder. As someone who's finicky about crab cakes, it's just OK (and given the price of king crab, I can understand why). The chowder has a yummy base, but I wish there were more clams in it. All that said, it's a fun place to go.
Walked by today and the Owner was outside in the street yelling at people not to patronize the other restaurants in town,but to come in his place instead. Hollered at one group not to go eat BBQ ,but come there instead. One of his Kitchen Boys I'm assuming was outside walking up to people trying to drum up business,while Bad Mouthing the other Restaurants trying to make a living.
