awful experience, poor food, expensive drinks and below par wait staff

fun drink and food is great
classic "dive bar " nothing fancy or pretentious about the place . I had cocktails and something to eat ( gyro plattet) both were good . You dont always want fancy and uptight sometimes just a regular neighborhood bar will do just fine and this fits those requirements.
Bartenders will give you a to-go cup for your beer knowing you are from out of town because you had a 10 minute conversation with them about being from out of town and undercover cops will be waiting for you to go across the street to your hotel. That’s a good size fine for being in the city for a weekend for a wedding. I’ll make sure to tell every single person I know, not to go to this bar ever. I will also be letting the Palomar know about this situation

good late night food, friendly servers.
