Dr Patel has been out family Dr for many years. He has helped us with compassionate care through cancer treatment issues, diabetes care, sensitivities to drugs,old strokes, and many other health problems. He is very busy and sought after by patients. We have noticed that the office staff since he came to UPMC have been inefficient. He does not get his messages often. Given one star because I had to choose at least one. Doctor is not responsive to patient needs, calls from caregivers, or nurses from assisted living. Elderly mother suffers from a history of UTI hallucinations. Best is prevention and proactive care. Symptoms reported for 22 days following 6 weeks of hospitalization and rehab from a previous UTI and fall. Discharge was 11/30/23. Came home with starting symptoms. Positive UTI results taken TWICE with positive culture results on 12/17. No meds prescribed for 4 additional days.... read more
