GREAT FIND! – I have been meaning to write this and am finally doing so! We ordered every recommendation from out server--from the lush red wine through the homemade pastry of baklavah, and it was delicious. This is rustic greek cooking in a very casual but cool setting. We ate every drop of the Greek salads, the cheese triangle, and the tzatzikik w/the delicious homemade pita...mmmm. To satisfy the vegetarian in our group, we ate the cheese pie next, and it did not disappoint. Going back for more!!
delicious greek, quaint atmosphere, – I love coming here. their pastisio is warm and delicious on a cold winter's night. their greek salad is always fresh and the feta is mild. there are only 6 tables in this place, so the best time to go is not on the weekend when it's overcrowded. but on a cold monday night with hunger pains in my tummy i love coming here. also, the beat salad is perfect for something lighter. great greek wine list too.
Avoid this – Over the top pretentiousness at this dump. We had the rudest waitress and the food was over priced and it is so small inside that you're touching elbows with the next table.
No Respect For Customers! – Tried to go for a 'snack' on a late Sunday afternoon, it was dead empty [this should have been a sign to keep away], the waitress gave us a weird look when we came in and then told us there was a $15 minimum per customer - ?! Is that even legal? we left. Not worth it. Never going back. Will never recommend this place either.
The Worst – Reading some of these reviews - are the reviewers reviewing the right place? it is not even on Bleecker street?? The tables are so crammed together, it is hard to enjoy yourself... and it is so dark and dingy, and damp and dirty.... you cant even see your food.... probably better not to see it!
Silence of the ..Lamb. – Have sadly only eaten inside Snack a few times. I don't live or work too close so my golden chances are rare. Can say that every meal there has been wonderful. The place is charming, the staff delightful and the food scrumptious. Am not Greek but if I were..I'd swear my mom was cooking for me there. I always order various hot & cold appetizers and then always fall for the lamb sandwich. A foodie friend taught me to ask for the lamb on pita and the sauce just works magic into the pita. Apart from the ... read more
Fantastic Brunch! – Although a little off the beaten track, if you happen to be shopping along Bleeker, this is a really great place to go. The greek salad is a very healthy portion and very fresh; as an appetizer it is easily sharable between 3 or 4 people. The staff is friendly and cheerful. The Avgolemono Eggs are reminicent of eggs florentine with beautifully poached eggs layered over spinach, tomatoes and rustic bread with a delicious lemon sauce and come with a very nicely made side of pomme frites with caramelized oni... read more
Best meatballs I've ever had! – Everything in this place is wonderful, but the veal meatballs are especially wonderful!!! YUMMY! They melt in your mouth! The service is great, and although small, the place is very comfortable. Also love the vegetarian and lamb sandwiches!
Cozy Find – I came upon Snack while shopping solo in SoHo. Upon stepping inside, I decided to take my food to go. I ordered the Vegetarian Souvlaki (not positive about spelling). After making my way to an outdoor table a block away, I started to chow down. I was expecting the sandwich to be warm, but it was cold, and the pita was a bit overstuffed. But after a few bites, I was loving it. The sweet sauce balanced the sharpness of the onions, and the other veggies were delicious. I would definitely reccomend this cozy spot for... read more
