I remember coming into the store with a physically different coworker. The girls who worked there treated us thoroughly differently and had their order first, even though I ordered first. Two white men came in after me and received their orders before me. I understand I can’t change people's mindsets or behavior, so I wasn't upset. I asked for a refund as I felt disrespected. CJ was awesome!! So sweet and went above and beyond!!
This was my first time inside of a smoothie king, just wanted something to cold and non carbonated to drink. Walking in the place was clean, presentable, and had good vibes for music choice. I was greeted with eye contact and a "welcome in" from a worker named Sophia. Sophia also took my order and helped me with my order, explaining a few things to help me.
