Smoky Mountain Knife Works first began as two guys, Kevin Pipes and John Parker, selling pocket knives at flea markets. As their business grew, they realized that they needed a store of their own, which they opened in 1978. Today, shoppers can browse the shops extensive collection of knives, fishing supplies and camping gear. Also for sale are various safety supplies, as well as outdoor apparel and footwear.

DO NOT ORDER! I will never order from here again! I placed an order on Dec. 10th thinking that there would be plenty of time for it to get here by Christmas. I was wrong. Since I didn't pay more money for "upgraded shipping" my order was put on the back burner. When I called on Dec. 21st to find out were my order was I was first told that it hadn't even shipped yet. Then after holding for a few minutes the woman came back on the phone and told me it was on a truck but they had no idea when I would receive it but it would not... read more
Smoky Mountain Knife Works Inc sells Nazi propaganda Smoky Mountain Knife Works sells Nazi/neo-Nazi propaganda. To be clear, I mean items with no historical significance - just decals and modern knives with swastikas.
A must see! We went for a 3 day weekend and stopped on our way into Pigeon Forge at Knife Works. Well almost 2 hours later we left :) My husband did not want to leave the store and made several purchases. The next day we made another trip there and spent an hour and 30 minutes and a few more purchases!!! On our way out (day 3) we stopped again and more purchases...see the pattern? Needless to say, this store was a hit and now we are planning another trip there this weekend!
Lyle F I purchased my first knives from SMKW about twenty years ago,and I've always been impressed with this retailer. Last year, my daughter and I, had occasion to visit their new museum and buy my daughter a new canoe knife for her birthday, just as I had so long ago. Just the gift she wanted. The store was a real treat and the staff was outstanding. I'd recommend this as a must see, for anyone traveling through the area. Their catalog and online store are excellent as well.
Smoky Mnt. Fun! Smoky Mnt. Knife Works is a place for the entire family, not just the guys! The kids love the museum look downstairs and their selection of toys and goodies and the ladies love the shopping down there as well, with stationary, jams and jellies, kitchen needs, pictures, candles, etc. They have all the TN souvenirs you would want! And they have an excellent variety of knives for every need - camping, cooking, hunting, display and collecting. If you are in the area, just stop by, even if you are not a knife coll... read more
Fantastic place to shop We visit Tennessee every year and as soon as we hit the Gatinburg/Pigeon Forge area this is the first stop we make as well as our last stop in Tennessee when we head back home. We absolutely love this store. You can find anything from old fashioned candies and toys for the kids to speciality knives and swords. This is definitely a place the entire family can enjoy!
Something for everyone! The name of this store is totally misleading. There is so much more to it than just knives. There's something for everyone in the family to enjoy, from the old-fashioned candies to the toys and home decor. This store is HUGE! It is a great place to browse for unique gifts.
A great knife store This place is great just to browse in.I could spend hours looking at everything. They obviously feature knives of all types, but they also have a fantastic selection of decorative swords. The staff can answer your questions about what each sword represents and they are attentive to your needs. The prices are surprisingly low and the parking lot is vast. They cater to a lot of tourists but they seem to have time for the locals as well.I highly recommend this store. You can find some really good name-brand knives... read more
