The original Smith & Wollensky, a traditional New York steakhouse, opened in 1977 and is currently one of the largest grossing la carte restaurants in the country. Since its inception, the company has grown to include more than 10 restaurants, including establishments in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Houston, Boston, Las Vegas and Columbus, Ohio. Smith & Wollensky is also one of the few national steakhouses that dry ages and hand butchers beef on its premises. The restaurant also offers private dining rooms for road show ... read more

I love this place – I wish I could afford to eat there every night. The food is exceptional and everything else falls into place.
Awesome – I think I could have died and gone to heaven without regret after eating the lamb chops. I been to all the steakhouses in Boston and I have to say I was impressed to say the least.
Superb Food and service – Better than G23 or Flemmings hands down. A little noisy but most busy steakhouses have that issue. If you want a table that is a little less noisy make sure you let the host know that and there are options as I found out first hand.
Everything was great – I was reading through all these reviews and cant understand what these people are complaining about. I have had dinner at this place on a few different occassions and it is as good or better than any other place in Boston. Service was great and the food was even better every time I've gone there.
not worth it – i went during restaurant week, and it still wasnt worth it. tried two appetizers, neither of them very good. my steak was extremely undercooked, i dont expect that at this type of steak house. the people next to us got there after us, ordered after, and were done with their meals before we even received ours. bad service, and ok food. would not go again, definitely not when its full price!
Went for Restaurant Week. What a deal! 10 oz filet cooked exactly right, delicious pea soup and giant piece of 5 layer chocolate cake for $30. Wonderful service best onion rings. Will go again on restaurant week. Cant afford it any other time.
Dinner Date – I was taken here by my husband for our anniversary. Ive always wanted to go in the castle because Ive just been curious to see what it looked like in there. I was very impressed when I went in. We were taken to a separate dining area which looked like a library. It was a very nice and private area. I ordered the Lamb Chops and my husband got the prime ribs. Along with those, we also got two sides each. When the food arrived, i was at awe to see how big the servings were. The two sides and the prime rib would ha... read more
Not worth it! – My husband and I had a very sub-par restaurant experience here a couple of months ago. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, which was plentiful but boring. There was very little flavor, the pieces were soggy and I have had way better for much less. Next I order the filet mignon. I asked my rather uninterested waiter for it to be cooked medium rare, and I received an unedible, beyond well done hockey puck. I literally took two bites and couldn't eat any more. I ended up sharing my husbands somewhat better dinn... read more
Predictable food, mediocre service (even for Boston)! – Let me preface my review by saying that I'm from the Midwest, and the East Coast just does not do beef like we do. I've been to Smith and Wollensky's in several cities, and the Boston location is definitely sub-par. I don't quite understand why the service in all New England restaurants is so bad, but at steakhouse prices, I feel like it should have been much better than it was. We waited for a hostess for quite a while and then were all but abandoned at the bar, since ... read more
