On a business trip to NYC was debating with myself whether to have a Club Sandwich in my room or treat me, myself and I for a nice dinner instead, despite being on my own. Luckily decided for the latter and opted for an iconic New York steakhouse experience. Smith & Wollensky is a true classic and was the obvious choice. The experience was absolutely impeccable. Our server, Daniel, was exceptional. It was the best meal we have ever had. Chef made a special gluten free mousse for my daughter with celiac disease. Damien was excellent as was Conner and Aaron, the sommelier. The place felt like Old NewYork in all the best ways. Would DEFINITELY recommend!!
A classic steak house, be careful though, large portions. Wedge salad and rib steak were perfect. Better than expected service, plus a nice 2021 Kosta Brown joined the meal.
Brice and Ron treated us like we’ve been friends for years, never expect to have such a grounded bond with our waiters at an esteemed restaurant like this. Food and services were extraordinary, will definitely revisit when the whole family is in town. *they’re playing NBA playoff at the bar, a big plus to me.
The food was good, but the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the restaurant’s reputation. Both the ribeye and the chicken were well prepared, but the portions are extremely large — a bit overwhelming for two people. The biggest disappointment was the martini, which was so strong it was honestly hard to enjoy. It’s a solid place, but given its reputation, we expected a more refined and balanced experience.
Smith & Wollensky has a 4.4 star rating with 4,825 reviews.
Smith & Wollensky is open now. It will close at 11:00 p.m.
