Worst experience for my son. He transferred from the Pediatric Unit when he became an adult and the care has degraded since. I have come with my son to appointments with Lapado and he didn’t recognize him and had to review the chart to remember anything. They don’t follow up, don’t schedule required appointments, don’t communicate with the Apheresis team. Just horrible. I have worked with the best sickle cell doctors in the world. I was a patient of John Hopkins until i moved but let me tell you Wally Smith and his nurses are rude and weird. Dr. Smith called me and told me that he was done working with me and when I asked for a Referral so I can see another doctor. He said verbatim “no one‘s gonna be able to do for you what we have”… what kind of answer is that to someone who is just looking for pain management. Being treated unfairly because a mishap on their part. They don’t care if I’m in pain they only care about covering their butts.
