We are currently in a lawsuit against Smith and Smith and Ruiz, specifically due to the actions of Jorge. His negligent handling of our account and the provision of misguided information has caused significant harm to our business. Jorge Ruiz was my CPA since 2018 until we parted ways in 2024. Jorge incorrectly advised me for years that my business (that Jorge registered) did not have to pay state taxes and now I owe over 50k to the comptroller which led to the state seizing my bank accounts. I filed a complaint with Texas State Board of Accountancy and petition with the justice of the peace court demanding remedy.
