Unfortunately I have had to deal with the pain of losing my mom and a few years later my dad. After dealing with staff planning moms funeral there was no question who to call when dad passed away. They take compassion, professionalism, and service to the next level. Every detail is thought out and taken care of. Everyone is so helpful , when your not sure you can breathe let alone make decisions.
Staff is over the top wonderful. The help they give when a loved one has passed is unmeasurable.
I attended a funeral a few months ago-and I googled smith family funeral homes and accidentally went to the one in Ovid only to realize that we went to the wrong funeral home and we were supposed to go to Elsie! We made it to the correct funeral home with 10 minutes to spare-only to find out that the funeral directors started the funeral 30 mins early. It was supposed to be at 2 and they started it at 1:30 without permission to do so from the family. This is highly disrespectful to the deceased and the deceased’s family. The... read more

We are so sorry that this happened. Our practice is to always check with the family prior to starting the service to see if everyone was present. However in this instance, the pastor began early. She apologized to you that day when she heard your complaint. Again, we apologize and will do our best to ensure this never happens again.
