My wife and I ended our Lake Tahoe/Reno trip last August with a dinner at the Smith and River. (I know just getting around to writing a review). We had a great experience there, both of us ordering the chef's cut beef with sauteed asparagus and delicious potatoes. The food was amazing and so was our server Jamie, she made our dinner outing great and deserves props!
Went Saturday at noon...very limited menu choices...no appetizers, no soups, what happened to the fabulous crab cakes you used to have. Was disappointed ☹️.
Our experience was fantastic, the staff is supreme, the service world class, Brandon our server, and Krystan our Hostess with the mostest.The food was phenomenal. A lovely evening out. Thank You.
Salmon was good, lentils accompaniment was marginal. Lentils undercooked and a strange sweetness. Side salad was not plated well, funny tiny dish. Brussel Sprouts undercooked and also served in a dish that was too small. Service was inept and inexperienced. Timing of serving was off, part of our party was almost finished with there meal before others had even been served. Overpriced for sevice level and food. Wondered if they were short staffed but definitely unorganized.
A delayed review (only because we are now trying to decide where to go for Valentines). Took grandparents and our adult son to Smith & River for Father's Day brunch in 2024. Had a lovely view table on the balcony. (Granted, we could have used some help adjusting the umbrellas as half of our party was baking in the sun.) FOOD: Half the table ordered Eggs Benedict and the other half the special French Toast (encrusted with a cereal - made them oh so delectable.)
