Let me start my saying I have very tightly coiled 4C hair. I went in to get a virgin relaxer. My hair required a great deal of detangling. The stylist seemed patient. However, when it came time to apply the relaxer, she asked if I had brought one with me. I thought this was an odd question. I told her that I did not. She went to the back to get the product which apparently had to be mixed. I never saw the original container, as she returned with product in a bowl. I have had many relaxers over the years.
