My son had knee surgery yesterday at this facility. His appt was @10:45 am he was informed the doctor was behind but seriously!! 7 hours and 37 mins later for a 30 or 45 min surgery, with no communication to family in the lobby or to the patient himself, with one sheet of paper it was over. The fact that you cannot eat after midnight the night before and it’s now 19 hrs later would be bad enough. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! First, they fraudulently bill the patient. When the facility has a contract with your insurance they CAN NOT bill the patient more than the insurance allows. This place makes you pay in advance your maximum out of pocket. When I tried to confirm this with insurance they had me file a grievance and at some point they will be investigated for breach of contract. I was a recent patient at SmartCare Surgery Center in Palm Harbor, FL, where I was receiving medical treatment for Cervical Stenosis.
