Update: Smart Properties may possibly withhold your deposit wrongfully for things on the property prior to move in like they did to us (the items are showing in their listing photos) for example: a tire swing that was there prior to us, as well as wooden garden beds that were also there prior to us (both shown in the listing photos they have on their listings), something else their charging for includes damaged to a pole that was noted in the move in inspection form that they have and we have a copy of and was also emailed t... read more

A friend of mine has had a terrible experience dealing with this company. So, if you're planning on renting from this company then it may be in your best interest to find someone else. They seem to only care about the money and I've heard about lies they have told in the situation as well. Do yourself a favor and believe all their poorly rated reviews over the years because that will tell you everything you need to know.
I would strongly caution anyone considering renting from this company. Based on what I have personally observed, management appears to prioritize collecting rent over maintaining safe, comfortable, and well-kept homes for their tenants. One resident I know pays approximately $1,000 per month, yet the property is severely outdated and she has been expected to handle repair costs herself or locate someone willing to perform the work.
