I signed a contract for a new roof and solar panels. The next day I spoke with the company to cancel the roof part. The agent said he would send an addendum for the solar panels only. When I did not receive the paperwork that day, I canceled the entire project by fax and certified return receipt mail. The company still tried to cash my check for $36,000. They sent the addendum through which I declined to sign and the next day I received a "welcome to the family" email. I am not interested in doing business with this company.

I have been having issues with my combiner box for over a month now. The company first came out without a part to replace any bad components. The company has twice scheduled to fix my issues but did not show up or provide a text, phone call, or email to tell me they are not showing up. I had to make a call and figure it out, and the service center had no explanation, and all the customer service could do was schedule me again for the next two weeks. Please stay away from Smart Energy Today.I sign up 4 months ago to get Solar Panel installed. They said it will all be installed in 2 months.I'm still waiting. I never got a call back I have to keep calling them. When they schedule a day to come do the work they will cancel the very last min. I tried calling and texting ****, He seem like he disappeared with the rest of the crew. I'm on my 2nd payment. Trying to find out if I can stop making a payment of a job that wasn't done.Plus to warn others so this won't happen to you.... read more

Smart Energy Today (SET) has apparently gone out of business after allegedly merging with another company. They have not updated their website, do not answer their phone, and do not respond to e-mail or phone messages. They insalled our system in 2018, and everything had been fine until July of this year, when the sytem stopped producing.We've given up trying to contact SET, as theyseemingly no longer exist.

So far, I have a really bad feeling Ive been scammed. Once tbd panels are installed, good luck getting ahold of anyone to help. The city permit inspector has no record of the process. The customer helpline is a dead end, the sales guy Matt * disappeared. Run from this company if they knock..

SMART ENERGY TODAY *** has never pulled a city building permit and the electrical permits are not inspected by ****************** for those areas that use them as the permitting body. They are messing up anyone's chance of selling their homes since most banks want proof that all work has been permitted and inspected. Several in my community had to spend more money to get an inspection and pay the fines (in our case, the city charges double) for doing a project without a permit.

I had my solar panels installed December 6th 2021, I was told it would be about a 3 week wait time for them to be active and producing power. I am now writing this May 23rd 2022, where I have yet to produce any power with my panels I have been paying for my ****** dollar system for closing In on a half year. I have been in contact with customer service MULTIPLE times and nothing gets resolved. Smart Energy Today **** rep convinced me that my house might be eligible for a solar energy program that **************** is advertising to the public to use clean energy and may be cheaper than the heating oil that I currently use.I said my house was small that putting solar panels up the roof might not even be enough to collect enough energy. The company installed my solar system in 2019. Although I was not informed on how to view the power production using my phone, I was happy with starring at the numbers on the bi-directional meter until Sept 2021 when the solar power production stopped. After few phone calls to the company, I was told there will be something delivered to my home address. Few days later, a box came. It was a new inverter from SolarEdge.
