I loved these petzels since the 1950's, but the last time I had them, they had changed. Don't know what has been changed but the pretzels were larger and more doughy. The after taste was that of yeast. Hope you haven't changed the recipe and ruined an institution. I wi'll try again when I come to town.
This was my first time and they took my 4 year old and let her roll a pretzel...amazing people and awesome pretzels
My family went when they were kids, and I went when I was a kid. I plan on taking my kids here one day!! Best darn pretzels in the world!
I love Smales Pretzel Bakery. I was born in Dayton and I have been going to their establishment ever since I was old enough to walk. I have wonderful memories of when I was small and when I went to Smales with my Mother & Aunt...the gentleman at Smales would always give me a free soft pretzel. Now that I am sixty-eight & live on the West Coast in WA State I am very grateful Smales ships the soft & hard pretzels. I wish Smales continued success. Sincerely...your client forever.
My son and I walked down to get his first pretzel he couldn't believe the place has been there for 100 years.
My favorite pretzels, period!! Will miss these as I've moved to Charleston SC
