Food Poisoning – This use to be my favorite go-to spot for NY style pizza...until I got extremely sick from eating here. I went with one other person and they also got sick so I know it was the pizza. They should really start using gloves behind the counter. Its just another illness waiting to happen. I hope you arent the next lucky victim.
listen i hear a lot of people complaining about brooklyn sal's pizza service. what i can say is that it is absolutly fantastic. they may be rude all the time but for my sake i think it is all part of the enviroment. it makes the time your there much more exciting then boring, it gives you something to laugh and smerk about rather then frown about. the pizza there is also to die for...omg if you are looking for pretty much the best pizza in raleigh go to brooklyn sal's its genuine new york pizza, and trust me i know...im from... read more
Rude is right!! – I read the reviews but heard the pizza was good. When I called to see if they deliver the lady on the phone was completly rude. I will never eat there, that is for sure.
food good, service sucks! – The lady that works there is one of the rudest people I have come in contact with. The only reason we go back is because the pizza is pretty good. We would go there more, but the service is awful. If Sal wants to keep in bussiness he needs to fire some people.
Not Recommended – Opinions obviously vary. The food is average, that's my opinion. The service can be friendly or bad, that's my opinion. However, my biggest sticking point with this restaurant which is close to my home is not an opinion. Last week I called to see when the restaurant would close. I was told 9pm. I arrived at 8:30 and they locked the door in my face saying they were closing. A little piece of NYC! – I've been to Sal's a number of times since it first opened, and Ive always been impressed with their pizza. That said, you can't go to a New York Pizza joint and expect "Southern hospitality," so if that's what you're looking for then keep on walking. Another Complaint About Service – Service there is completely horrible. The pizza is ok, but the service is so bad it's not worth the bother. Several times we've ordered a pizza, watched it get finished, and then sit there for 10 minutes because the woman working the register doesn't care enough to keep track. Short of asking if every pizza that comes out of the oven is yours, you're going to end up waiting for no reason, and end up with a pizza that waited for no reason. They don't care – When this restaurant first opened, we enjoyed the food, the service and the personal attention from Sal. Since the owner rarely is there now, the service is horrible, they don't care, the quality of the food is terrible. If you complain, they just shrug their shoulders and say "so". The pizza is BAD – I'm from NY and I can say that this is NOT NY pizza. I'd have been better off getting pizza at a chain or pretty much anywhere else. At Sal's, I was greeted by a person with an attitude at the register. I then waited over 30 minutes for a pizza pie (and it wasn't even busy) and the pizza was awful. 1) There was little sauce on the pizza with no taste, 2) the crust tasted like cardboard and was too salty, and 3) the cheese was burnt and not NY quality mozzarella.
