Skylands Services is the best! I’ve owned my 98 year old house for 30 years and have worked with many contractors over the years, gradually restoring the house to its wonderful 1925 roots. Our home is 100+ years old and Skylands has completed two major renovations (kitchen and adding a master bedroom) plus many projects over the past 7 years. Their work is impeccable as is their professionalism and attitude. Which each of the renovations there was so much attention to detail; John and Gregg have such an appreciation for older homes, and their suggestions and guidance are very well thought out from every aspect.. In 2017, Skyland Services, Inc., completed a very large addition onto our home in Guilderland. We were absolutely thrilled with this company from beginning to end. They were totally professional, but beyond that, they were way more relational than you expect contractors to be. Extremely attentive to all details. Clean and orderly. Reliable. We have used Skylands Services for the past 12 years. They have done multiple jobs for us and we would not even think about using any other company. John and Greg and company always arrive on time, keep a clean workplace, and complete a job exactly as they had explained and with excellent workmanship. They also have a quick response time if you need to reach them.
There are probably a few good general contractors in the area. But NONE as good as Skylands Services. Skylands is not only incredibly talented, they are fun to work with. Their attention to detail and perfection is second to no other company. The crew is friendly, masterful, and thoughtful. Clean up happens at the end of every day. I’ve had the best experience with this awesome contractor/ builder. John Walston and his team not only take care to do precision work, they have great design sense. I used them for two major renovations. They also make it as easy as possible to live in a construction zone. I highly recommend.
