John Sklar is a truly compassionate doctor who cares about his patients, yet discourages dependence on drugs to deal with chronic pain. He encourages, instead, healing the whole body.
This doctor completely messed my husband over. My first clue that something was amiss, was that I was not allowed in the room. There was enough room for me to stand so I could have been in the room. Because I was not able to be in there, there was no witness to the bad doctoring that further injured my husband. I saw Dr. Sklar for an MMI as the state appointed doctor, when the insurance disputed my original certification. The doctor spent very little time with me. The time he did spend with me did not include a true exam. He used no instruments to measure my range of motion. He estimated my impairment from his chair, that he never left. It seemed like Dr. Sklar had decided, before I entered the room, what my rating would be and that measurements were not important. He also wasn't interested in my history or records. Dr.Sklar is one of the rudest doctors I’ve ever met. He took about 20 mins to see my mom and only examined her for about 10 minutes. Towards the end all he said was “I got what I needed you guys can leave” my mom then proceed to say thank you and all he could say was “Okay.” Extremely unprofessional.
Dr. Sklar advocated for me on a drawn out WC process that lasted several years. In my experience with Dr. Sklar, he was patient and thorough. Most of all he was honest, fair and highly knowledgeable. He is a true professional.
