I was recently diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma and ask for a referral to another dermatologist that only does skin cancer. I was first told by the receptionist that she couldn't do that. One of the staff from the back then came to the front and after I approached her she said a referral would be no problem. Once I filled out release of information for the other physician's office I was then told again they couldn't give me a referral even if it was per patient request.
