Dr. Shafer never came and talked to me after the surgery. I was told I would receive a follow up call the next day. They did not call. I called them and only got recordings so I left messages but still didn't call the next day. The pharmacy called the Dr. and would not fill the pain medication until they heard from the Dr. He did not return their call. I left 2 messages to have him call the pharmacy but he never did. I was briefly a patient of Dr. Shafer, who I sought care from in 2020 due to an injury to my dominant thumb. Dr. Shafer was dismissive of my symptoms, reported that I had no abnormalities on an MRI which the radiologist reported showed osteoarthritic changes, and did not seem to make an honest attempt to diagnose the cause of my symptoms. Though I was experiencing pain and weakness at the MCP joint, Dr.Shafer prescribed me a brace for the CMC joint which did not at all provide support/protection to the injured joint.
