A great program and partner to us here at the Cafe! We see them as a true 'sister organization', our main focus is on substance use and recovery; theirs is on mental health and building independence, but we're united on a common goal: helping folks reach the fullness of their potential through community. I like this place, it isn't a place of "we're gonna get you everything you need" it's somewhere you LEARN to get what you need. Life isn't going to hand you everything on a plate just for being "a good person" and I respect this place for not letting you victimize yourself. Do what you gotta do.
I was embittered.
My visit during the first day, at the new location was challenging. Although the Clubhouse Staff is motivated and engaging. Fellow members are not so mutually involved. Perhaps getting acquainted is a guarded experience for strangers. Nevertheless, I am hopeful!
