You are treated like a real human with needs here. The staff are friendly and thoughtful. They made sure to call me by my preferred name. Single person bedrooms are a huge plus so patients have some level of privacy from the other people on the ward. There is a camera in the bedrooms for safety in lieu of the common 15 minute room checks. Unfortunately I believe that the Mount Vernon mental health system is horribly broken. There needs to be more accountability. I would suggest starting with the P-Pods--Unless you're using the atrocities committed there as a source of income through the PTSD created by those in charge over there. Until something is done about those P-Pods--no one in Mount Vernon is safe.
