Best sushi in The Pearl – This hip new restaurant is a must for every sushi fan in Portland. Sin Ju has made its mark and is here to stay. Order the Vegas Roll and wash it down with a Momojito!! Origato!!
Good decor-Not great food – The atmosphere and decor was beautiful. The prettiest plates i've seen at a sushi restaurant. I was surprised to find the sushi not very good. The rest of the entrees were fine, tempura, beef. I'd go again but not for the sushi.
it's okay – It was a good sushi bar, but still did not quite compete with Saburo's huge portions. The pricing seemed about right for the Pearl District.
All Around Fabulous Restaurant – I love everything about Sin Ju...to the hand made art on the doors of the private tables to the gorgeous women's restroom. The food is excellent and the service is a perfect balance of courtesy and efficiency!
Classy – Recently celebrated friend birthday at Sin Ju. The service was excellent. The food, awesome as well. Presentation 10+. I am a pretty firm believer (especially when it comes to sushi) that you get what you pay for.
welcome addition to town – thoroughly enjoyed a recent lunch here. prices were reasonable and the quality/freshness of what we ordered was excellent. service was outstanding, very polite and attentive---yet not overbearing. a very nice addition to the pearl district.
good drinks(martini's) and great food – Responding to "not a keeper's/ thelawwon's" comments, I must disagree folks. While the prices may have seemed a tad higher, I didn't find them to be "short on the liquor pours". In fact, my martini was cold and full. So was my wife's. I'm not a big wine fanatic, but I noticed that the couple sitting next to us had wine, and I remember commenting to my wife how they had those oversized glasses... That is only the drinks though. We found the sushi and sashimi to be as good as we can reme... read more
Not a keeper – Sorry to disagree, but our trip to Sin Ju was terribly disappointing. The food was on the high-end for Japanese food and only mediocre, and $6 for a tiny, half-full glass of wine was outrageous. While the servers were well-meaning, our orders were lost, then served at different times, and we had to get up and ask for the miserable glass of wine. Once was too much.
Great new restaurant in the Pearl – This is a nice new restaurant in the Pearl District. Great sushi. Reasonably priced. Good ambiance. Friendly service. Date worthy. Not your conveyor belt type sushi place. The Japanese style booths have the paper door to enter through after removing your shoes. Very fun.
