Solid ambiance and attentive service, but I got the sense they're aiming hard for sushi‑restaurant vibes it didn’t quite land. Overall, felt more like a stiff performance than something effortless!
Everything about this restaurant is exceptional and the hotel is wonderful as well.
Very elegant heavily Japanese influenced dinner. 25 course over 3 hours. 196 page wine menu. Mostly raw and pickled fish. Ample street parking.
We visit around twice a year. Having been to every single 3 in the US, this is still our favorite in the US and stacks high against the international 3s in Europe and Asia. Just one critique, I don't always walk away feeling full, some menus need a bit more substance. Also, I get that the margins are extremely thin but I don't always feel like the value proposition equals out, especially if you look at the highest tier wine pairing. However, the staff is professional and I've always been impressed by the service.
