Dr. Simpson literally saved my life! I had a gastric bypass surgery done 5 years ago at another hospital and evidently when you lose weight it causes a space where your intestines can get twisted. My intestines got twisted twice. After Dr Simpson did an emergency scope, he tried to untwist my small intestine laparoscopically but he was afraid he would injure my bowel. Dr.Simpson, Daphne, Nate and the whole team and staff are AMAZING with the exception of one extremely rude nurse who thinks she owns/runs the place. Dr. Simpson did a wonderful job on my gastric bypass surgery. I'm currently 6 months post op, down 85 pounds and feel the best I have in years. I go in monthly for my B12 injections and I ALWAYS get flack from the nurse "Mary" every time...She's a nurse, that's her job! did a double hernia repair and it lasted 2 days and he refused to do anything about it. sent me down the road. I had to wait 3 months before any other dr would even look at me because I was still under his post op care. what a joke this guy is. the gut who fixed it said he has done at least 3 before me from this clown
I am 7 days post op of gastric bypass. It has been rocky & more than I expected. I ended up back in the local hospital 2 days post op but not to Cox because they wouldn’t take me. They said they had no beds. Why allow surgery if they don’t have the facilities to care for you afterwards I was very disappointed in this & also that I was refused a overnight stay the day of surgery by Dr Simpson. There’s SO much to learn I was overwhelmed & it’s no wonder mistakes are made by patients causing complications.
Run away as fast as you can. I was not allowed to ever meet Dr Simpson, but numerous procedures were prescribed for me after only a visit with the nurse. When I questioned the staff about additional procedures scheduled, I was given the run around. There was no follow up to my questions and/or emails. Then to add insult to injury I was accused of saying things I did not say. Clearly, this was a CYA tactic to cover their tracks. Another vote for “avoid this guy”. My first red flag should have been that he did not attend my consult, sent his NP. Met him for the first time in the pre-op room and he was running a few hours late (which I don’t think was his fault), so he was in a hurry, he was very impatient and bullied me when I asked questions, overall it was a horrible experience while I laid there alone (due to Covid restrictions) and helpless with an IV in my arm. Best Doctor I have had in a long time and on top of that a great person. 2 surgeries and same person everytime you meet him
I would highly recommend him. Very satisfied with my care before and after surgery.
Avoid this guy. 3 visits and finally on the 3rd visit had to beg to actually talk to "him", you will only get the nurse practitioner every time, who is not a surgeon, nor an export. Finally got my surgery, 4 months later no change in symptoms... got a new scan with a new doctor to learn they didn't fix anything and they completely avoided a hernia (in the exact location of the surgery) that is allowing a tangle in my bowel tract. Didn't even touch it. Have the exact same surgery scheduled again
