They miscommunicationed the price of the repair to me over the phone, not telling me about the $150 “diagnostic charge.” If I would have known the actual price I would have paid $150 and taken it somewhere else for my repairs. They wouldn’t budge when I told them the situation. Very difficult having this happen to a family of 6 at Christmas Time. Be prepared to pay money on top of the repairs so they can tell you what is wrong.
I took my 2006 Ford focus to Dean at Simmons automotive after receiving a $1800 maintenance estimate from Lakewood Ford. Dean looked at my car for over two hours writing up a thorough estimate and explaining everything to me in detail without charging me a dime. Lakewood ford tried to charge me over $500 for “diagnostic time “ and did not find nearly as many problems as Dean did and did not clearly state the importance of what needs to be done now and what can hold off.
