Loved it been going for two years a snowbird !!! Lovely environment !! Laid back friendly. Can't wait to go back in November
A must go if you are in the Ocala area. And you have to take the glass bottom boat tour the guide went longer than usual and we were able to see alligators, monkeys and so many species of birds. Sadly, the springs are disappearing and no longer in the best of state so go and see them if you can.
I miss Silver Springs the way it was a before the state took it over! If you wanted to have a fun, relaxed day and enjoy nature, Silver Springs was the place to be! The friendly animals,the rides,and of course the wonderful concerts that you could only see with an annual pass. I saw some of the greatest concerts of my life there! Merle Haggard, Lee Brice, Travis Tritt, and who could forget Glenn Campbell's emotional farewell....all gone for good! Very disappointed. . . Everything was gone except the boat ride. No animals the big gift shop when you walk in is an empty building. So sad, used to be my favorite place in Florida.
When we first moved to Ocala this was one of our favorite places to go. When people would come to visit we would always take them here. The animals, the rides and of course the concerts were a lot of fun. Since the state took over this place has gone to hell. The animals are gone. All the rides except the glass - bottom boats are gone, and the price to ride it has gone through the roof. Even though they promised the concerts would continue, they are now few and far between. I loved taking my daughter here when she was growing up. I moved away and when I came back to visit I wanted my boyfriend experience the park as well. I did not know all the attractions where gone. The jeep ride was always fun. The only thing left was the boat rides....but he enjoyed that.
