Your CommentsThis rental experience was an absolute nightmare! We travel to the Port A area often and have never had such a terrible time. Upon check in our beach house was not clean, however Im not a complainer so we just tidied it up a bit before unpacking. To my horror, the house was infested with roaches. When I say infested, it was bad. They were crawling all over the walls, the ceilings, the kitchen- everywhere. We had brought food to **** but I couldnt even use the kitchen. I know that cleanliness is a critical part of that equation, so it goes without saying that pest control regularly visits the property. And after reading your review, I asked them to come out right away. Since then, Ive been informed that the property is free and clear of all unwanted guests. So if theres ever any way we can change your mind about us, dont hesitate to let us know.
I booked a rental in July through their air bnb third party account and they never submitted my rental. When it came time to go I called for my check in instructions and could never get in contact with a host. I called the office it self and they said they couldn't find my rental because I booked through air bnb which makes do sense because they are the ones with the account.Nevertheless I lost out on my week vacation because someone overbooked.
Booked a rental home, paid, signed all contracts prior. 3 HOURS BEFORE CHECK IN I receive a text from Silver Sands Vacation Rentals that the home we rented was UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND UNAVAILABLE. Also, stated they didn't have anything else to offer (OF COURSE IT'S A HOLIDAY WEEKEND) and said to call another vacation rental company. Over thanksgiving I rented a property from Silversands (the Sandcastle property), I called ahead of time to inform them I would be bringing my service dog (they acknowledged that, not that I have to do that legally though). I was subsequently charged $1180 for violating their no pets policy. Another one star review. In January I selected a nice rental from Silver Sands and tried to book it .I was told to check back because the house was currently on the market but a deal was likely. . A week later I called again and was able lease the house for this winter. There were many bargains rates then as people were reluctant to commit to travel amid great Covid concern. This was the worst experience my family and I have ever had! First, we show up and there is water dripping from the first floor ceiling. It was coming out of the light fixtures, in between the wood panels, and by the stairs. We had to put towels down to prevent us from slipping. We called Silver Sands and were on hold for 20 mins and then told they would send maintenance out to look at it and we were #3 in line. I rented a house on vrbo that stated the property was near downtown/marina area. As i arrived- the address was on the opposite limit of the city. I phone both the owner and vrbo and neither assumed responsibility. We rented the house “Ocean Oasis” in June. The contract stated the house had Internet, Tv, and several amenities. We also paid a $200 cleaning fee. Upon checking in, the house was filthy. It had not been cleaned. There were even dirty bed linens in the closets. None of the TVs worked for the entirety of our stay nor did the internet. Other things that were broken: microwave, two showers did not have water that would come out, toilet not attached to the ground, roaches all throughout the downstairs. Falsely advertised a house rental as having a balcony that looks out over the beach. In reality the balcony had been locked due to the railing being loose. The 4th floor railing was also loose. The house was rented to us with no disclosure that it was both locked and unsafe. This is a serious breach of trust which endangers lives of all that occupy the house. The house name is Ruby Redbird Roost in Port Aransas. The house had so many amenities listed that clearly were not available and should’ve never been rented.
