Rented Unit 107 at Beachside through Silver Sands. The unit was disgusting. It was so dirty you didn’t want to touch anything. We washed dishes and bedding before using. Goodwill wouldn’t accept the broken and soiled furniture throughout this place. The couch had multiple stains , cigarette burns annd was extremely wirn. We could nit bring ourselves to sit on it.Any reputable Prooerty management company would not accept this place for their rental inventory in the condition it is in. We rented Sol Searcher for the Thanksgiving Holidays. Beforehand, we had to sign our life away in order to use the included golf cart. My emails to delete the pet deposit and add insurance were ignored. When we arrived, the door code we were given was not complete. We finally figured it out. The WIFI password was also wrong, so we had to use our own cell data the entire weekend. The golf cart had no key. DO NOT RENT A VACATION HOME FROM THIS COMPANY! Booked a rental home, paid, signed all contracts prior. 3 HOURS BEFORE CHECK IN I receive a text from Silver Sands Vacation Rentals that the home we rented was UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND UNAVAILABLE. Also, stated they didn't have anything else to offer (OF COURSE IT'S A HOLIDAY WEEKEND) and said to call another vacation rental company. This was the worst experience my family and I have ever had! First, we show up and there is water dripping from the first floor ceiling. It was coming out of the light fixtures, in between the wood panels, and by the stairs. We had to put towels down to prevent us from slipping. We called Silver Sands and were on hold for 20 mins and then told they would send maintenance out to look at it and we were #3 in line. Unfortunately, this house (No shoes, No shirt, No problem) was a huge disappointment. You know it's bad when your 17&13 year old boys comment on how dirty the place is. This house needs a deep cleaning and paint job. We walked up to a broken gate. Completely off the hinges. We had our dog with us and had to prop the gate to use. Bag of trash left on back porch. I spent an entire day of my vacation cleaning so the kids would not touch the blood and feces that were left behind. The oven never worked, the dryer stopped working 2 days into the stay, my son stepped on a rusty screw in the pool (along with finding several used band-aids) this was all with the revised late check in time mandated so the housekeepers have more time in the unit to clean. Big Kahuna - great house and pool, great location. Love the space and layout despite not enough parking room. HOWEVER, problems with the house - no internet, no wifi, no cable service, Roku's never worked, property manager response was delayed and relatively indifferent. One employee tried to help, but the improvements lasted about an hour. No call backs until late. No entertainment for young children other than the pool or beach on a hot weekend. My husband and I rented a property from Silver Sands through VRBO on 04/13/2020. We planned to rent the property July 9-12. The website clearly stated that "this property allows free cancellations up to 60 days before arrival." We cancelled on 5/1/2020 (well in advance of 60 days). * Our stay was scheduled 3/22/20-3/28/20 at Beachaholic in Port Aransas If zero stars was an option, that is what Silver Sands would get from us. While the house, Beachaholic in Port Aransas, was a nice, well kept home, we had nothing but issues from the start.
