WOW! this place ROCKS!!! This is the neatest place! My family and I stopped in Florence on our way to Canada, it is my home town so I never stayed in a motel there before. I decided to choose the Sands since it was the star motel back in the day, not to mention the longest running motel in Florence. I was really pleased at how clean and comfortable our room was. Good Stay!!! Very clean and comfy motel. Very friendly staff. Me and my family stayed here in the begining of June 2010. The pool is gone now, but the new management is alot better than the old. There is alot of pretty trees and flowers and the rooms are alot cleaner than they were fives years ago when I stayed here last. The night we stayed was on a weekend and the motel was fairly busy, But still quiet enough for our 2 month old to sleep through the night. We will definately stay here again when we come back to Oregon.
cheap We stayed here twice. The first time they told us the pool was being fixed. The toilet leaked in the room and we told them The second time we came back it was someone else at the front desk. They tried telling us the pool had just broken and was being fixed (same thing as last time). Coincidentally we got the same room. The toilet was still leaking. I told them and they acted like it was something new they would take care of right away. PROS: cheap CONS: cheap
nice We stayed here and found it to be very pleasant. The desk clerk was super nice, the rate was super cheap and the rooms was very clean and tidy. Nice warm and clean pool. Close to town, activities and great dining. Coffee in the lobby every morning. And a parking space directly in front of your room!
Silver Sands Motel BEWARE The bed was sunken in the middle to the point where we could not sleep. There were stains on the sheets as if they had not been changed, there were stains on the chairs and on the floor. The room had a foul odor and the curtins had holes in them. For an extra $10 to $20 get a room somewhere else! We figured out the problem with the bed after 11 so we couldnt change rooms. We live a little over an hour away so at about 4:00 am we finally had to go home. A call to talk to them about the issue had a re... read more
