We found the hospital and staff very helpful, but beware of the emergency waiting. my wife and I sat for12 hours she had bad stomach pain turned out to be infection. Another time 8 hours. These were week days. Be ready for the long wait.

Silver Cross hospital takes no concern for the well-being of the patient. Went into ER for extreme headache, nausea, stiff neck, pressure, etc. explained this has been going on for 5 days. Sign said 4 hr wait then 6.5 hr wait. I watched people come and go while I was still waiting after 7 hrs. Went to check the status and was told I see you’ve been here the longest. In early Nov. 2022 I spent 3 days at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Ill after having hip replacement surgery. It was an experience that I will never forget. A young CNA who was assigned to my room couldn’t have been more rude and uncaring. First, she insulted me by whispering to herself, under her breath, that she would be glad when I would be gone. 8 hours sitting in the waiting room with 60 plus people and I have COVID. NO SOCIAL DISTANCING!!!! They took my blood pressure etc and didn’t clean the cuff, let other people sit by me. I ask a nurse to take my blood sugar. I hadn’t eaten since noon. She ask me if I brought my own tester. Really!!!! This is suppose to be a hospital. I had back surgery in March of 2021 by Dr. M Khan, at Silver Cross. All the staff at Silver Cross Hospital were so kind and professional. I was on the 5th floor and in the inpatient rehab and again everyone was kind, and helpful. Dr. Khan's staff is amazing again very kind and took their time. Dr. Khan is amazing, he is so kind, personable and he is a miracle worker for me. I can not say anything bad about my experience.

I was brought by my family to emergency department 2/26/21 with very great pain in my lower back. The experience was terrible . The nurse was very rude and an professional .After he pocked with me so many times to never find the vine . I asked if I can have another nurse because I was in great pain he refused and was very angry at me he did not try to help me with the pain just left me on my own . well let me start by saying my best friend is dying in the ICU and I called and talked to the charge nurse about policy's on saying goodbye and was told " I have better things to do than talk to you, were busy bye". is that anyway to treat someone losing someone they love more than life itself? the way I was spoken to worry's me for the care he is receiving I worked in an ICU for years and we never disrespected family or friends bc we understood there emotions stemed from their grief.

The nurses and staff there are so kind. They aren't all cold and all businesslike. They don't mind seeing to your needs. They make your stay as pleasant as possible. I'M great full for them.
