I was a happy Silva tenant for three years. At first, I was admittedly skeptical of renting from a property management group, but I was consistently pleased with their care and support. Their online portal was easy to use, especially when it came to work requests. The professionals they sent always came in a timely and convenient manner, and they provided good and kind service. I loved living in the apartment, and would have been happy staying for longer. I was very happy to rent from Silva.
Pros: the maintenance is adequate. Unfortunately, this is not a given around Boston. The apartment was old and dark, but functional, and maintenance requests were responded to. Cons: the pricing is outrageous. I originally paid $2100/month for about 300 square feet in Somerville (quite high, but not off the charts). When it came time to renew, I was hit with a rent increase of $300/month, and the landlord refused to negotiate or give a justification. I had a wonderful experience renting with Silva Realty for three years. It was easy to pay rent and submit any maintenance concerns through an online portal. Maintenance requests were always very promptly resolved. I would definitely still be renting with them if I were not moving out of town!
