TLDR: Do NOT order from Silicon Mechanics. They are evasive and nearly impossible to get ahold of, and when you can get ahold of them, they are very rude & dishonest. Our company tried purchasing from Silicon Mechanics and had a terrible experience all around. We got hosed by these people. As a non-profit I thought I could save some money buying from these guys. We don't get money for server's very often and we have a highly virtualized environment. We bought a server for 10k to be a VM host but it would randomly just freeze and then reboot. Whatever it was, happened in such a way that Windows Server didn't even log it, but the IPMI logged it as a CPU error.
