I had a very disappointing experience with Sierra Vista Hospital’s financial assistance process. As part of my charity care application, I provided my Social Security Disability award letter to the financial counselor. By the following afternoon, she was unable to tell me where she had emailed my document, and she did not even know her own email address. Worst ER experience I've ever had. I had a severe almost golf ball size abcess in my mouth from a cracked tooth that was turning black, and I was starting to get cold sweats and a fever. I was told by my dentist the day before when she saw me and gave some antibiotics that if it got any worse to ho to the ER, because its so close to the brain if it ruptures it could be fatal. THIEVES! They charged me for a service that was totally covered by my insurance. They INSISTED on a $25 copay before they would complete the procedure even though Medicare totally pays for it. And now I have worked for A YEAR on trying to get them to give me back the $25 they got from both ME & MY INSURANCE. The last thing was, "We'll mail that check right out to you." RIGHT! Still absolutely nothing. THIEVES! I sure hope I don't ever have to go there again!
Took my post-surgical husband to ER, as he was having chest tightness and pain. We had the good fortune to be treated by a board certified emergency medical doctor, Dr. Stephens. He ordered appropriate tests and bloodwork. He explained everything. The nurses, Medical assistants, and respiratory tech and radiology all work together as a seamless unit. My husband's treatments were the same as anything he would receive in any large hospital. We were very grateful and would never hesitate to return.
