Should-win-an-award service – The service extended well beyond free installation of the inexpensive part that I purchased. Andrew even corrected parts that were unrelated to my purchase. I recommend this shop for its wide selection of parts and delightful service.
They didn't have my bike – I called ahead of time to see if they had this bike I have been wanting and the man had said they did but when I came in they didn't have the bike I wanted and instead was pushing me to buy another type of bike that I didn't want. They did get me my bike but it took a few weeks.
Total professionals and very cool teaof true bike heads! – I took two bikes in to have new and existing parts installed/exchanged by a fantastic mechanic and great guy named Joe Lawler. He took wonderful care to make sure all work was done meticulously and his communication was fantastic throughout. Super Friendly, Super Knowledgeable Staff – I recently purchased a second hand bike to try commuting to work from Greenpoint to Red Hook. I've been enjoying it so much I am looking to upgrade to a better road bike. A friend recommended Sid's Bike Shop and he said if I went to the East side shop, to ask for Ashley. My boyfriend and I went there on Saturday afternoon and Ashley helped me to pick out my next bike. totally cool totally helpful – I walked in here to get my saddle re-tightened and ended up buying some odds and ends. 4 blocks after leaving i got smashed by a cabbie who mangled my frame and fork, bloodied my leg and basically traumatized me. I limped back and the staff at Sid's helped me clean myself up and calmed me down with some old fashioned humor. They fixed the demented state of my frame and fork and wheel on the spot with a smile. Excellent Mechanics – When I was younger I used to work on my own bikes. But now that I have a job and a kid I barely have time to ride, much less work on my bike. I've used a lot of other shops but found them to be sloppy. Sid's mechanics are very thorough. I never worry about the work they do.
